                            | Amlaki 
                                is a major ingredient of Chyavanaprash, 
                                a popular Ayurvedic tonic. According to legends, 
                                the sage Chyawan is reputed to have restored his 
                                vitality with this fruit. Amlaki is a carminative, 
                                Laxative or purgative and is useful in anemia, 
                                jaundice, dyspepsia, diabetes, asthma, insomnia 
                                bronchitis, and is healthy for Skin, hair etc.

                           It increases cardiac glycogen levels and decreases serum 
                          GOT, GPT and LDL in rats having induced myocardial necrosis. 
                          It raises the total protein level and increases the 
                          body weight due to positive nitrogen balance. 
  It cures Skin disorders Respiratory infections and allergies 
                          and is Anti - Ageing and protect cells against free 
                          radical damage. 
  It provides antioxidant protection. 
  It is the richest known source of vitamin C in natural 
                          form and contributes towards health and longevity. It 
                          is a good body tonic. 
  Use every morning a table spoon of fresh juice mixed 
                          with honey that will prevent many ailments.  The fruit is acrid, cooling, 
                          refreshing, and it increases quantity of urine. |

                           Anxiety: 1 table spoon of dried amlaki powder could be soaked 
                          in one cup of water overnight to which 1/8 table spoon 
                          of black pepper powder and 2 tsp of lime juice added. 
                          The mixture is diluted as required for consumption
 
  Hyperacidity: Powdered fruit rind 3-6 grams twice a day with milk 
                          cures Hyperacidity
 
  Heart diseases: Triphala : 1/3 portion of Triphala is Amlaki. The other 
                          2 parts are pulp of HARITHAKI and BIBHITAKI. Triphala 
                          is used in majority of Ayurvedic recipes. It is cardiac 
                          tonic and cures heart diseases.
 
  Diabetes: 1 table spoon of amlaki juice, mixed with a cup of fresh 
                          bitter gourd juice, taken morning every daily for few 
                          months stimulate the pancreas and enable to produce 
                          insulin. Diet restriction should strictly adhere to.
  Hair Tonic: Cut the fruit in to pieces and dry preferably in the 
                          shade. Boil these pieces in coconut oil (4 times in 
                          weight of dried fruits) till the solid matter becomes 
                          charred. This is an excellent remedy in early graying 
                          and preventing hair falling.
