Some of the simple but useful remedies are given below: -
 

For malaria fever 5-7 leaves mixed with powdered black pepper maybe taken.
10 grams of Tulasi juice mixed with 10 grams of Ginger juice removes pain in joints.
Tulasi seed mixed with Curd or Honey stops vomiting in children.
Black Tulasi Juice mixed with powdered black pepper mixed with oil (Ghee) removes gastric troubles.
25 grams of Tulasi juice with 2 grams of black salt if taken 4 days destroys worms.
Black Tulasi (5 grams - 25grams) mixed in honey cures Asthmatic complaints.
Black Tulasi water mixed with Vinegar (same amount) mixed with butter is beneficial for Eczema conditions.
Tulasi leaves heated in water used as drugs cures ear ache.
For sore throat gargling with 10 grams of Black Tulasi boiled in 1/2 L water helps.
Black Tulasi leaves mixed with 7 almonds and 4 cardamoms (powdered) are good for indigestion.
Black Tulasi leaves mixed with honey (same amount) applied to the eyes, cures blur redness.
Rub black Tulasi Juice (few drops) on the hands and feet of a person who has fainted.
For excessive spit in the mouth black leaves should be chewed.
The juice of tulasi leaves can be used to bring down fever. Extract of tulasi leaves in fresh water should be given every 2 to 3 hours. In between one can keep giving sips of cold water.
In children, it is every effective in bringing down the high temperature. Tulasi is an important constituent of many Ayurvedic cough syrups and expectorants. It helps to mobilize mucus in bronchitis and asthma. Chewing tulasi leaves relieves cold and flue.

 



For ear ache a few drops of tulasi extract, if instilled, relieves the symptoms promptly.
The juice of fresh leaves, flower tops and slender roots is a very good antidote for snake and scorpion bite.
Its oil is rich in vitamin C, carotene, calcium and phosphorus. Besides, it has antibacterial, anti-fungal and antiviral properties.
Ayurvedic tulsi preparations have significantly reduced the symptoms of viral infection.
In diabetics it helps in lowering the blood sugar level.
Its anti-spasmodic property can be utilized to relieve abdominal colic’s. The extracts are also helpful in digestive disorders.
Tulsi leaves have properties similar to the currently available anti-TB drugs like Streptomycin and Isoniazide.
Oil of tulasi has been used as a potent anti-malarial drug. It also has mosquito repellent properties
It raises the human body immunity by increasing the antibody production.
Tulasi has anti-fertility effect by reducing the estrogen hormone levels in females and decreasing the sperm count in men.
It is also useful for the treatment of ringworm.
